The Craft Fair

Last week on Saturday we had our Craft Fair. The Craft Fair was amazing. We had rides, food/drinks and lots and lots of stalls. Me and my friend Summer had our own stall. We made sherbert that we were selling with lollipops. I learnt some math because we had change. I made a couple of mistakes but that's how I learnt. We made nearly 200 dollars but we had to give 35 dollars to the school for the stall and 30 dollars to Summers mum because she is the one who bought the stuff to use. I loved the Craft Fair and I would definitely go next year. 

Magic Maths

In early level 3 maths we have been learning to change improper fractions to mixed numbers. This made me feel more confident in myself. It was pretty easy for me but it took some practice. This is a short video on my maths.






 

My Trip To Iceland!

Hi I have been away for 7 weeks. I flew to Iceland because my mum is from Iceland. My dad is from New Zealand so we came here to live and here I am now.

Dubai

It took 18 hours in the plane to get to Dubai. I felt a little plane sick. In Dubai it was sooooo hot in fact it was 46 degrees. We landed at 5:30 in the morning. we had a whole day in Dubai. We looked at the biggest mall in the world. The mall is huge. There is a zoo and a ice skating rink and alot more other shops. Then we walked to the tallest building in the world. The Burj Khalifa. It is so tall. In the Burj Khalifa there is the fastest elevator. The elevator was so fast and so scary. After a while we finally got there. The 156th floor. It was sooooo high. My knees were bending a lot because I was high and it was scary. 

The Crashed Plane 

In Iceland there is a crashed plane. We went to go see it. To get to the plane you need to walk 5k. At the beginning my mum told me and my brothers whoever nagged the less would get a prize. Guess who won? ME OBVIOUSLY! After a while we finally got there. Me Stormur and Kristjon my brothers went on the roof of the plane. It was so creepy because the medal would bend up and down. Now we have to walk all the way back. In total we had to walk 10k.It was so exusting. The plane is about 45 years old. 

On The Way Back

On our way home we made a stop in Italy. My mum's friend in New Zealand flew to Italy to live for 6 months so we went to go see them for five days. We were in Pescara. There is a amazing beach down the road. We got gelatos a lot. The ice creams were sooo yum. My aunty lives in Denmark so we went there to see her. We've did some biking around. It was fun.

It was a blast in Iceland but I missed being in New Zealand. Some things have changed but not many. It feels great being back. 

Mother Day

In Moana 3 we have been making mothers day cards. We made a sweet   our mothers. First come up with alliteration for your mums name. After that you need 3 adjectives, then write what your mum calls you, what is a sentence that describes your mum. Now you are done. My mum loved my card. Did you guys make anything for your mother?

Kawa Of Care

Introduction 

Hi again WALT  take care of our  chromebooks, we are making posters about kawa of care.

What Is Kawa Of Care 

In Moana Learning Hub we are learning about Kawa Of Care. Kawa Of care is about being cybersmart  on our chromebooks and taking care of our them. Taking care of our chromebooks means we need to put them in the number order that we have in the cupboard so we know where it is. We also need to be responsible & not silly otherwise there could be consequences at school. We can only go on websites we are supposed go on , otherwise we will not be cybersmart. If we are being cybersmart we need to only post good and positive things about our learning .We can't post any personal things online or your password because random strangers could track us down. All of this is about Kawa Of Care. I hope you learnt something today. this is the poster my friend Summer and  made to remind you about Kawa Of Care. 

Digital Timetable Fun!

Introduction 

Hi my name is Ruby, I will be telling you about the digital timetable fun. The digital timetable is in our Moana Learning Hub Website. 

How To Get To The Timetable  

We click on a clock in our Moana Learning Hub website (Moana Learning Hub is our class website where all our information is).  It takes us to our timetable. The workshop choices are in our emails, we click a link & it takes us to a google form from our teachers, with the  workshops for the week. We fill in the google form then we put in the workshops on the matching time. 

What To Do 

We fill in the tables with workshops. All workshops are half an hour. I know if I should go to a workshop because I read the levels, also if I have a goal. With the empty spaces I put in activities. We go to Moana Learning Hub Website then push 'Links to Learning' button and find different activities like: listen to reading, basic fact challenge, work on writing, quick write.With the activities we fill in the empty spaces on our timetables. We fill the timetables in on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday because Friday is home room day so we stay in our original class and don't use our timetable. 
I love using a digitel timetable because I know what I'm doing and I don't ask what I should do next.
